The Old Preacher (The Word of God NOT Fair Speeches) - Pastor Nelson Turner

Pastor Nelson Turner of http://www.av1611reformation.com/ - a ministry dedicated exclusively to the word of God in the English language, the AV1611 King James Bible and proclamation of the Doctrines of Grace contained therein to the honor of the Lord Jesus Christ - preaches this sermon (with additional readings from the writings of the John Newton, and Rev. Thomas Scott, who succeeded Newton as pastor of Newton's congregation.)
Pastor Turner, in a sermon for the benefit of all - but of particular importance to those who, in the name of the Lord, preach God's word and purport to teach His Elect - demonstrates from God's word and the pastoral readings that Christian pastors and those who place themselves under them have instructions from Holy Scripture and church history how to conduct themselves in humility to the Lord. All are to exert special care to avoid vain exertions, the pride of man, wicked imaginations, and departure from sound doctrine in their spiritual devotions and service to the Lord God.
Please note the distinctive character of Pastor Turner's ministry: bold before the enemies of the Lord and His eternal word; not afraid of what man may say if the Lord has spoken. This is not a self-named ministry. This is not a ministry in search of love offerings. This ministry is not promising salvation to anyone from the formulaic recitation of the Sinner's Prayer.
Pastor Turner, by the grace of the Lord God, preaches the word of God from the AV1611 King James Bible for the instruction and spiritual edification of the Elect saints of God wherever they might be. The word of God is the final authority in all matters of faith, practice and doctrine; and questions of meaning in particular passages of the Holy Scriptures must be resolved by further study of the Scriptures, not appeals to popes or church fathers or underlying meanings in the texts of other languages.
We pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that the word of the Lord may have free course and be glorified; and that all thanksgiving, praise, honor and glory be unto the Lord now and forevermore.
